When I get back (around 1630), I will be able to stop freaking out about my two exams today, and start freaking out about the fact that I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow (Olympics!).

Stupid siesta. I guess I'll have to wait until between the hours of 5 and 8pm in Venice to make the reservation.

Sleeping. The plan is to be up from 8-9:15am for breakfast, then go back to sleep.
The last time I slept was Saturday night, and that was for only three hours.

After getting frustrated with trying to write my linguistics paper with "gender neutral" language, I simply added a footnote:
"In my opinion, the use of gender-neutral language in this context is highly inefficient, and is simply an overreaction by activists to male dominance (perceived or real). In most languages, one or the other gender pronoun is taken, based on context, to be gender-neutral. I will follow the convention of taking male pronouns to be all-inclusive."
It's a socio-linguistics course, so I'm sure they'll understand.
