I have a book report due tomorrow. Yes, you read that correctly. A book report.

I guess "I will attempt to call shortly after 5. If I do not reach you, I will write back to schedule another time. I’m afraid I’ll be climbing on a plane about then and will be in the Far East for a week." is a nice way of saying that I won't have a phone interview today.
